History:
BEFORE SOLIVAGANT:
A fearsome but trustworthy brute called Admonition took a fiery and untamable mare called Wrathful Eden as his mate in a Dark herd far from Terra Sollus. She bore him a son, called Narcotic, nicknamed Drug, and a daughter, called Nirvana. These four were the royal family that ruled over this herd, and sooner or later, there was a choice to be made: who would succeed Admonition on the Dark throne. Nirvana, since she could remember, dreamt of being Queen, and when it was finally announced that Drug would succeed their father on the throne, the filly could not bear it, and began to plot against her brother to steal the throne before he could claim it. She tried spreading rumors that he was coveting a Light wench and that he wished to make her his Queen. In these lands, even speaking to a Light was strictly forbidden, as the two alliances had agreed to cut all contact generations prior, so of course, there was a herd-wide uproar. Nirvana’s plan worked for a while: Drug was shunned by his future subjects and he was beaten and bludgeoned by his parents and the royal guard in an attempt to force the truth out of him. He denied all allegations time and again, and eventually, after weeks of interrogation, the charges were dismissed and everything seemed to return to normal. Though Drug’s image in the eyes of the herd was tarnished a bit, he did not lose his claim to the throne, which Nirvana refused to allow. It was then that she searched the herd for the most powerful and secretive assassin she could track down. It was time to end this. That was when she met the stallion Neuros, who was a giant and terrifying brute, one that would certainly be able to assassinate her brother to open the throne for her taking. She approached him with the job, and he insisted that she make payments for such a favor by way of allowing him to mate with her anytime he pleased. This was one of the most difficult decisions Nirvana would face in her life, but she was not about to stand in her brother’s shadow as he ascended to the throne. She agreed, knowing that as soon as she was Queen that she could have Neuros killed easily. Nirvana made the mistake of actually trusting this brute to make any attempt to kill Drug, as he instead led her along, saying that he would kill him “when the opportunity presented itself” while abusing her physically nearly every day. One night, Drug himself walked in on a particularly rough scene between Nirvana and Neuros, and Drug immediately sprung into action to save his sister. Within minutes, Neuros was slain, and Drug gained a new and indomitable respect in Nirvana’s eyes. After that, Nirvana felt to guilty for everything she had done that she planned to flee the lands entirely out of shame. On the eve of her departure, Nirvana had a secret council with her father, who gifted her the albino raven Atticus to protect her on her journey. Admonition had raised the bird from a chick, having found it abandoned on the outskirts of the herd lands several years prior. Atticus was a faithful servant and friend, and had watched Nirvana grow from birth and loved and respected her as his own family member. They proved to be the perfect pair, and the two set out for new lands without looking back. Nirvana was still determined to rule someday, and she vowed to herself and to Atticus that she would sit upon a throne of Darkness, no matter the cost.
SOLIVAGANT YEAR 1:
Nirvana traveled north for what felt like ages until she arrived in Terra Sollus, ready to stake her claim upon the throne. She arrived in the midst of that year’s winter to see that the King and his army were away fighting the Lights to the north. Nirvana took this opportunity to rally the remaining Darks to her cause, telling of her royal lineage, and, after hearing the tale of how Mordant was killed, her intent to give King Callous a taste of his own medicine as well as punish him for being so careless. Nirvana was assisted by Darks who despised Callous for killing their beloved King Mordant who had led them here and kept them safe for years. They trained her to fight in ways that she had not learned in her birth herd, and made sure she was well-rested and taken care of before Callous’s return so she would have the advantage in finally slaying the tyrant. When Callous returned, Nirvana felt as much like a Queen as she ever had, and ended the brute’s life after several minutes of rigorous battle. She emerged with injuries, but none that she wasn’t able to recover from with time. She successfully took the throne as Dark Empress, and began the process of recovering from her battle wounds as well as building a good reputation among her people. She didn’t care much for the Light lands left in shambles, and allowed for the Lights to recover, as well. She insisted to those who pushed her to take the decimated Light territories that it wouldn’t be any fun if all they did was wipe up Callous’s mess. Nirvana would march on Valkyrie’s Keep when the Light Kingdom was good and ready. She was interested in a fair fight for land and power.
Personality: Nirvana is pompous, headstrong, egotistical, and unapologetic. She is mean when she wants to be, and mean when she doesn't want to be. It is extremely difficult for her to "open up" to anyone or discuss any "weak" feelings she may have with anyone but her companion animal. She is rarely ever kind or compassionate unless it suits her needs in the moment. Nirvana has never ruled alongside a stallion of equal power, and never plans to. She is a stand-alone ruler, and considers her decision making to be absolutely correct unless an overwhelmingly good case is presented against her. She will sometimes seek advice, but this is a rare occurrence, and even those equines must prove to her that they are worthy of her respect before she will give it. Nirvana has little interest in making friends aside from making allies for political gain, and is essentially asexual, as she has no interest in taking a mate, romance, or having children. She reacts to romantic advances with extreme annoyance and sometimes anger, and overall, has an extremely short temper. She hates when others get too close to her, and prefers to be left alone most of the time unless she has to discuss pertinent information with a specific equine. She is extremely intolerant of disrespect toward her rule, and typically uses the promise of glory and victory as a motivator for her subjects. She is not as evil as she could be, however, and absolutely detests those who kill for pleasure and generally do heinous things without reason. She is capable of compassion and understanding, but this, too, is a rare occurrence, and would typically be brought on by a level of respect Nirvana might have for another equine for doing something that, in her eyes, makes them deserving, like ruling a kingdom, for example.

Companion Animal
Name: Atticus
Species: Common Raven
Gender: Male
Age: 6
Build: Average

Markings/Defining Features: Pink skin, legs, and bill.

He can warm up to other equine but doesn't interact with them as much as he does with Nirvana.
