His parents roamed with a band that was un-associated with the rulers, or other groups that seemed to stake claims in the world. He was not born Cadence, he was born a stag named Leo. He was one of the middle children of his family. Often ignored by his parents, and picked on by both his older and younger siblings. An ideal, and normal life for someone. Cadence learned early on that the gender of equines did not matter to him, and he fell for multiple stags within his home. When the leads, and his family found out, they were disgusted by the sheer idea of it. This marked the day that Cadence had no home. His life was swept out from beneath his feet, and he hit the ground running. Cadence spent much time traveling the lands, watching as the positions changed hands. He did not interfere, nor did he join the ranks of any locations. Those he Cadence did meet and interacted with, he touched on a very deep level. No matter their alliance, or strife, Cadence was always there. He made numerous friends during his life, and fought hard to make their lives enjoyable. Cadence found music, or at least the word for it the day he stumbled upon a mare who sang such beautiful, but terribly sad songs. The pair were quick friends, and both outcasts from their homes for similar reasons. Cadence fell in love with her as Leo. She was responsible for giving him the new name Cadence. Through her he learned more about himself, and the world as a whole. She often told him of his objective, but observant nature. She leaned heavily upon him for support, and he crumbled under the weight of her burdens. Cadence was not enough for the passionate, beautiful mare. She left him one night, after spending three years together. Cadence was shattered by her absence. He caught word months later of his child having been born, but ended up missing. The woman he once loved had perished, and this tore at the cracks already forming in his very core. Cadence drifted for another year after this news arrived to him. He simply existed, as more strife rose throughout the lands. Cadence could not bring himself to care as he had for the world around him. Not the way he once had. Personality: Cadence is a confident individual, though he is also very kind. He has a very neutral view of the world, and only desires to better the lives of others. Cadence has an endless amount of patience, and often is known best for his quiet nature. Cadence takes great pride in being a someone who is safe to others, who others can find a home in. Part of this stems from his own issues with feeling inadequate or worthless. Cadence finds worth through helping or supporting others, especially those who are down on themselves. Many would describe him as greatly affected by the suffering of others. He often feels as though he must carry the weight of the world upon his shoulders. Cadence is the type to try and take pain away from others by preventing it, whether that means putting himself in the path of harm, or lying by omission. Cadence struggles the most with motivation, and at times he feels so physically heavy that he has trouble standing on his feet. He is quick to internalize any mistakes he makes, and is his most harsh critic. Cadence tends not to believe the good things that others say about him. Cadence feels love very strongly for others, and can often be worked up to emotional bursts at the plights of others. This is the reason others describe him as sensitive. He is openly emotional about sad or tragic things. He is best at hiding his mental state from others, how he's feeling is kept tucked away from the world. He comes off as cheerful most often, and strives to beckon smiles from others. He thrives on their happiness of others. Cadence is also drawn to others with musical sounding voices, and even those sounds in the world around him. He has been known to sing to himself, when he thinks nobody is listening. Though he is good-natured if he is caught. Cadence is a very emotional creature, who loves with fierce passion. He is one who is resilient, and often springs back without letting others in to help him with his struggles. |
