Welcome friends! With Soli's official opening comes some very exciting things.
i. If you're a guest and you're taking a look around the site, there are some things you should know!
- - a. Solivagant does not have a chat box. We want to encourage an environment where the focus of the game is on IC interactions, not chatting OOC. We do have an OOC chat board and may create a Discord server in the future, but we have no intention of putting up any kind of chat box unless there is a majority demand for it from registered members.
- - b. All aspiring members must send an equine RP sample along with their registration. This can be any length. What we really check for is proper grammar and spelling. We want members to be putting in the effort to proofread their posts.
- - c. We are open to suggestions! If there is something you want to see, please let Befera know, preferably through deviantART.
ii. The Light throne is open for the taking, but we will not be holding auditions. Why?
- - a. We want characters to claim lands and titles for themselves in-character and without too much staff involvement. The Light royal who steps forward should rally those around them to accept them as the new royal, and shouldn't just be placed there by staff for all characters to respect and follow without question. The Dark throne is currently an exception as power was transferred within the site's main plot.
- - b. The site's plot should be taken into account because the Light kingdom is currently in shambles after the war. Many Lights are currently wandering through the lands with no one to lead them. Anyone who aspires to become the new Light royal should be aware of this and use it to their advantage.
- - c. Staff generally want to see an in-character effort from everyone on the site, and therefore will not hold auditions that rely on too much ooc involvement and ooc decision making.
iii. We have lots of fun images for your profile! Here are the dimensions.
- - a. All profile avatars are an easy 200px by 200px. We are on ProBoards, so you know what that means. Upload your avatar to an external image host and choose the "link" option. Do not upload avatars straight from your computer as the site will automatically resize it to 150px by 150px, which will make your profile look wonky. We highly recommend ImgBB!
- - b. All member profiles allow for a horizontal profile banner image! The recommended size for these is 1234px by 250px.
- - c. All member mini profiles allow for a 50x50 pixel icon of your choice to be displayed below your name! This can be added in the same area that the profile banner image is: the "Personal" section of your "Edit Profile" area.
iv. Of-The-Year Awards will be chosen in the season of Autumn, and are done in the same way as typical OTMs on other sites.
- - a. There will be a nomination period for 2 awards: Character OTY and Member OTY. This period will last for 1 IRL week.
- - b. Then, 2 polls will be put up and anyone who wishes to vote may do so. This is by no means required, but it could help boost the confidence of your fellow member, so we encourage it.
- - c. OTY awards are kept until the next nomination period when they are replaced with blank images. OTY awards can be viewed in the "Site Info" drop-down at the top-right of the site!
